Current Opening - Mortgage Loan Originator - Full Time

Dane County Credit Union has an opening for a Mortgage Loan Originator. The primary role of this position is to originate first and second mortgages, loan assumptions and endorsements, solicit new mortgage business, maintain good outside working relationships, and promote the organizations products and services, while helping us live out our mission, “building lifetime relationships with personalized financial solutions.”

The position is full time, based out of our Rimrock Rd. branch, and will have hours Monday through Friday 8:15 a.m. – 5:15 p.m., and Saturdays as needed. Work hour adjustments and travel between branches as needed to accommodate member requests.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determine financing objectives and goals. Conduct the loan interview and secure information necessary to initiate a loan transaction. Provide loan information and service to members, realtors, and others as needed.
  • Receive and screen loan applications. Pull and analyzes credit. Gather financial data. Notify member to resolve discrepancies such as late payment history, judgments, etc. Discuss options. Inform member of closing costs such as appraisals, and attorney fees.
  • Maintain constant communication with members via email, phone and mail, from application to closing and post-closing. Communicate with realtors and vendors pertaining to specific member needs.
  • Collect supporting loan documentation. Request a personal employment and credit check of the applicant, request an appraisal on the property and/or construction plans under consideration.
  •  Prepare records and reports as requested regarding loan origination and closing activities as needed.
  • Responsible for communicating with staff in the development of leads and serving our members. Work closely with Consumer Lending in the cultivation and support of subsidiary products and services that are complimentary to those requested by our members. 
  • Maintain contacts and good working relationships with real estate brokers and title companies to assure a favorable image of the organization and to provide information regarding current loan policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Receive inquiries from prospective members regarding all types of mortgage and construction loans, provide requested information regarding the organizations lending policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months Mortgage Loan Experience
  • Attention to detail

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Able to prioritize workload effectively

Recovery Specialist - Full Time

The primary role of this position is to assist Dane County Credit Union in living out its mission, “building lifetime relationships with personalized financial solutions,” by providing outstanding service to each individual.

This position is full time and the hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one hour lunch. Flexible weekday and Saturday hours as needed to reach members.  This position will be at our 2160 Rimrock Rd, Madison WI branch.

Major duties/responsibilities

  • Initiate outbound collection calls on past due accounts. Interview the members to determine reason for delinquency. Take appropriate action to resolve the account (could include loan modifications or loan workouts). Counsel members concerning their financial obligations, advise of options, and solicit payment agreements.
  • Respond to member inquires by phone, email, and in person.
  • Recommend further action as deemed necessary (i.e. repossession, legal action, foreclosure, referral to collection agency). Demonstrate judgment and discretion within the framework of all applicable regulations and policies.
  • Ensure member files are kept updated and complete, and all required documents are filed to include payment plans, collection letters, and recommend quarterly charge offs.
  • Be proficient in and perform duties of Collateral Protection Insurance (CPI) program.
  • Participate in Saturday rotation.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations.

  • Collection experience – 6 months or more is ideal, willing to train

The primary role of this position is to assist Dane County Credit Union in living out its mission, “building lifetime relationships with personalized financial solutions,” by providing outstanding service to each individual. A key component of this position is to identify the financial needs of members and prospects and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.

Major tasks/responsibilities

  • Identify relationship-building opportunities with every contact, cross sell savings, loans, and self-service products
  • Assist members with financial transactions. Balance cash drawer and vaults, if applicable, according to standards.
  • Perform general maintenance of existing accounts
  • Assist members with online banking and offers other technical assistance as needed
  • Meet or exceed established sales, service, and buyout goals

Requirements:

  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance
  • Strong organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve situations independently using sound judgment

A key component of this position is to identify the financial needs of members and prospects and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.

Major duties and responsibilities

  • Assist members with financial transactions and account questions. Interview loan applicants and complete application for approval. Make outbound contacts to members and potential members to offer appropriate credit union products and services. Open and close basic accounts, and perform general maintenance of existing accounts.
  • Identify relationship-building opportunities with every contact and actively cross-sell products and services. Make follow-up phone calls to members or potential members as appropriate, offering additional ways of improving their financial situation.
  • Meet or exceed established sales, service, and buyout goals. Answer questions accurately about products and services. Follow up with members and potential members as necessary. Resolve problems that arise within authority.
  • Possess effective knowledge of the credit unions products and services, and policies and procedures. Participate in training as assigned.

Schedule: Full time hours from 8:15 am to 5:15 pm Monday - Friday, and rotating Saturdays.
