Current Opening - Branch Manager

The primary role of this position is to assist Dane County Credit Union in living out its mission, "building lifetime relationships with personalized financial solutions," by providing outstanding service to each individual. Provides coaching and leadership to develop an effective team to their highest potential. Responsible for ensuring that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members.

This position will have the hours Monday through Friday, generally 8:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. but hours may vary, and is included in the Saturday rotation. The branch locations will be determined and the positions may be stationed at another branch throughout the month. Saturday location may vary.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coach and mentor branch staff, recognizing staff that perform at a high level
  • Hold branch staff accountable for meeting individual and branch expectations
  • Responsible for the oversight of the day to day operations of the branch
  • Provide solutions to operational issues as they arise
  • Complete all individual duties and responsibilities in an accurate and timely manner
  • Regularly interact with members, ensuring consistently high quality service is provided
  • Maintain advanced knowledge base of current products and services, policies and procedures
  • Actively participate in committees and member service meetings
  • Participate in business development initiatives
  • Serve as ambassador of Sales and Service Culture

Current Opening - Consumer Lending Manager

The primary role of this position is responsibility for oversight of the management and leadership of the credit union’s Consumer Loan Department while assisting in living out our mission, “building lifetime relationships with personalized financial solutions.” This position will also proactively manage loan production including, loan origination, processing, underwriting, and servicing, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Coach and mentor loan staff, assist in developing production goals and action plans to meet established departmental and organizational goals and priorities. Provide training support to the branch support staff to ensure timely and accurate loan application submission and funding. Assist in meeting service quality standards by aiding if workload exceeds production capabilities of the lending staff.

This position is full time and will have the hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with Saturdays as needed. This position will be located at our Rimrock Road branch.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages and directs the consumer lending department including activities related to the development, processing, and maintenance of consumer and residential mortgage loans. Coordinate activities to ensure appropriate staff coverage and quality of service.
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing input into underwriting standards. Underwrites direct and indirect loans, which meet established lending requirements and provide maximum profitability to the company with a minimum of risk. Approve, decline, or counteroffer loan applications within set lending authority. Ensures compliance with company standards and practices and State and Federal regulations.
  • Supervises Lending Specialists and Lending Support Specialists. Tracks and monitors employee’s progress towards goals and standards. Ensures completion of all work by staff in an accurate fashion and within the timelines and practices established by state, federal and corporate guidelines. Ensures a competent, motivated staff through hiring, training, counseling, supervising, and reviewing performance of staff employees. Identify areas for improvement, change in productivity, new development, keep staff informed on trends and normal CU information.
  • Works closely with Member Service, Marketing, Collections, Internal Auditor, and Compliance Specialist to ensure loan programs are implemented and carried out within established guidelines. Markets the direct and indirect loan programs to a predetermined auto dealer base.
  • Develops and maintains interest rate structure, lending programs, and budgets which are competitive and maximize profitability. Provides reporting to staff, management – including a monthly allowance for loan loss calculation, and board – including a quarterly board report.
  • Provides support and backup responding to customer inquiries, application interviews, underwriting, processing, and closing consumer loans and residential mortgages. Respond to staff questions regarding loans.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to: the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Review, track, monitor, and report on consumer lending and related trends to ensure managed results. Research and resolve member and vendor questions.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Management, or related field is preferred
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in consumer, mortgage, or indirect lending, or front office operations at a financial experience is required. Experience within a credit union is preferred
  • Minimum of two years management or supervisory level experience with proven abilities of effectively leading a team is required
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve situations independently using sound judgment
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, apply, and adhere to federal and state regulations/laws, credit union policies, and management practices as they pertain to consumer lending
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and solve problems and/or design recommendations to accomplish business and tactical goals
