Current Opening - Vice President of Finance

We currently have an opening for a Vice President of Finance. This position will have the hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located at our Struck St. branch.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are financial analysis and overseeing the accounting department.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor cash flow analysis, capital adequacy, asset quality, and liquidity. Analyze costs, activities, operations, and complete cost benefit analysis. Forecast data to determine progress towards stated goals. Appraise the organization’s financial position, review reports, and provide information to the CEO that can be used to strengthen the financial structure of the credit union. Participate in development of strategic financial goals. Prepare monthly finance report for Board. Utilize financial spreadsheet models to analyze branch service and product profitability, acquisitions, and expansions.
  • Oversee Accounting department. Maintain a highly motivated, well trained staff. Provide coaching, guidance, and support for direct reports. Meet with staff regularly on a group and individual basis to discuss department and individual projects, cross training, goals, and concerns.
  • Provide information, peer analysis, forecasts, what-if scenarios and recommendations for effective asset/liability management by reviewing and monitoring all phases of operations as they relate to the ALM process. Serve on ALCO committee, progressing to position of Chair. Prepare and present reports at monthly ALCO meetings and to the Board.
  • Oversee timely filing of all statutory reports, including but not limited to the 5300 report, tax reports, etc. Responsible for the preparation of budget and periodic analysis of budget projections, variances and profitability. Prepare monthly report for the Board.
  • Manage the corporate portfolio, monitoring investments and interest rates to obtain maximum return at minimal risk. Keep abreast of the market, key economic data, and regulatory changes which may significantly affect the investment function.
  • Prepare and maintain disaster recovery plan as it pertains to accounting, finance, and ALM components insuring business continuity. Be a point person for Corporate Central Credit Union – DT agent.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of similar or related technical experience in a financial institution setting
  • Two or more years of supervisory experience
  • Comfortable working in an energetic and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and motivate team to do the same
  • Experience identifying and correcting areas of conflict
  • Experience identifying areas in need of improvement and determining practical solutions
  • Possess excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize work while working independently
  • With a professional demeanor, communicate effectively, display empathy, and establish positive relationships with members and staff
  • Able to motivate and influence internal or external senior level professionals
  • Able to achieve a significant level of influence and trust
  • Able to obtain cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues
  • Able to work collaboratively with all areas and levels of the credit union
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field required
  • CPA or MBA preferred

Current Opening - Mortgage Lending Supervisor - Full Time

Dane County Credit Union has an opening for a Mortgage Lending Supervisor. The primary role of this position is to oversee the mortgage loan department as well as originate first and second mortgages, loan assumptions and endorsements, solicit new mortgage business, maintain good outside working relationships, and promote the organizations products and services, while helping us live out our mission, “building lifetime relationships with personalized financial solutions.”

The position is full time, based out of our Rimrock Rd. branch, and will have hours Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with evenings and Saturdays as needed. Work hour adjustments and travel between branches as needed to accommodate member requests.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Determine member and potential member financing objectives and goals. Ensure consistently high quality service is provided. Receive and screen loan applications. Conduct loan interviews. Pull and analyze credit reports. Gather financial data. Request appraisal or construction plans. Notify member to resolve discrepancies and discuss options. Inform member of closing costs. Maintain communication with member from application through post-closing.
  • Responsible for oversight of day to day operations of Mortgage Loan staff. Monitor Mortgage Loan activities to ensure compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
  • Coach and mentor Mortgage Loan staff, enabling them to meet or exceed individual and branch sales and service expectations. Hold these staff members accountable for their individual performance objectives and duties and conduct timely performance reviews.
  • Make recommendations as appropriate to maximize efficiency and quality of work. Provide solutions to operational issues as they arise.
  • Maintain contacts and good working relationships with real estate brokers and title companies to assure a favorable image of the organization.
  • Work closely with the Consumer Lending department in the cultivation and support of subsidiary products and services that are complimentary to those requested by members.
  • Prepare records and reports as requested regarding loan origination and closing activities as needed.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years Mortgage Loan experience with demonstrated sales experience
  • 2-5 years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • With a professional demeanor, communicate effectively, display empathy, and establish positive relationships with members and staff
  • Comfortable working in an energetic and rapidly changing environment
  • Possess excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize work and work independently with little assistance
  • Have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as percentages and ratios, in practical situations; read, understand, analyze, and interpret complex documents
  • Proficient PC skills, including experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook) and various lending software packages.

Current Opening - Mortgage Loan Originator - Full Time

  • Maintain constant communication with members via email, phone and mail, from application to closing and post-closing. Communicate with realtors and vendors pertaining to specific member needs.
  • Collect supporting loan documentation. Request a personal employment and credit check of the applicant, request an appraisal on the property and/or construction plans under consideration.
  •  Prepare records and reports as requested regarding loan origination and closing activities as needed.
  • Responsible for communicating with staff in the development of leads and serving our members. Work closely with the Consumer Lending department in the cultivation and support of subsidiary products and services that are complimentary to those requested by our members. 
  • Maintain contacts and good working relationships with real estate brokers and title companies to assure a favorable image of the organization and to provide information regarding current loan policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
  • Receive inquiries from prospective members regarding all types of mortgage and construction loans, provide requested information regarding the organizations lending policies and procedures.

  • Minimum of 6 months of lending or mortgage loan experience

Member Service Representative - Full or Part Time

The primary role of this position is to assist Dane County Credit Union in living out its mission, “building lifetime relationships with personalized financial solutions,” by providing outstanding service to each individual. A key component of this position is to identify the financial needs of members and prospects and recommend an appropriate credit union solution.

Major tasks/responsibilities

  • Identify relationship-building opportunities with every contact, cross sell savings, loans, and self-service products
  • Assist members with financial transactions. Balance cash drawer and vaults, if applicable, according to standards.
  • Perform general maintenance of existing accounts
  • Assist members with online banking and offers other technical assistance as needed
  • Meet or exceed established sales, service, and buyout goals
