Hyosung, the leading ATM manufacturer in North America, recently outfitted a local credit union in Madison, Wisconsin with a line of Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs). The installation of these new machines came just in time for the COVID-19 restrictions that were set in place.
The credit union had ITMs readily installed at all three of their Wisconsin branches just before the pandemic hit. This allowed the credit union to continue to effectively and safely serve their members during that time. Many members had never used the ITMs before, so it was important that their first experiences were positive. The fact that members can interact with tellers via video has been critical for the success of the credit union.
One of the main challenges with this branch transformation was the integration of the credit union’s core processor. Dane County Credit Union uses an external core processer that posed new challenges for the Hyosung team. Being the first integration of its kind in the area, Hyosung worked through a few technical obstacles in order to successfully integrate the technology. However, with the intensive collaboration of the credit union’s IT department and Hyosung, the two parties were able to find excellent solutions that they can now use for future projects and implementations.
“Hyosung was very responsive to our needs and requests. Working directly with Hyosung, our IT department learned the ins and outs of ITMs. We are now able to handle many troubleshooting issues internally. Most recently, with the COVID-19 situation, we deployed several of our ITM agents to work from home. The connection from their homes was spotty at times. Our IT department reached out to Hyosung and they responded by reviewing our transaction logs, found the issue, and delivered a solution to us.” Bonnie Rosenmeier, VP of Marketing and Member Service at Dane County Credit Union.
Dane County Credit Union is now the first financial institution in the area to implement ITMs into their operations. Hyosung was able to successfully upgrade this credit union by installing and seamlessly integrating multiple ITMs. With less and less people using face-to-face interactions, ITMs have become a critical piece of technology for the success of banks and local credit unions alike.
